Relics of Communism

Visiting a few of the old "communist bloc" countries and seeing how they have adapted to capitalism was very exciting for us. It is always the people you remember most though - their spirit and their resilience.

We started in Poland, moved on to the Czech Republic, then to Hungary, on to Croatia - zipped into Boznia_Hertzgovina for a few minutes - and then on to Slovenia. What a journey and what a range of experiences!

One negative thing we became painfully aware of though was the level of graffiti on such beautiful buildings! I don't know if it was because we travelled a lot by train that the graffiti was so overwhelming. I think graffiti is always worst near railway lines.

But when you see this fabulous architecture and all the stonework at ground level is defaced, you almost weep.
